You should always be pretty well aware of the major releases coming to DVD. Comedy movies are no exception, and it seems that, as of late, there have been several different comedy movies that have made an impact. One of these movies would most certainly be "Hot Tub Time Machine" for many different reasons.
Through the course of this article, you are going to get a good look at this particular film. You will get a look at the general idea behind the film through a semi-detailed plot synopsis. Additionally, you will get a small breakdown of a few of the main characters in the piece and their roles to making this comedy something to be talked about. Not to mention, a film to be viewed again and again.
This film begins with the depressing display of leaving middle aged years and still having nothing to show for it. All three of these aging men in the movie believe that they were meant for so much more and they have to always think about what could have been while dealing with what is. These men are Adam (played by John Cusack), Nick (played by Craig Robinson) and Lou (who is played by Rob Corddry).
After another night of hard drinking, Lou decides that life for him is over and attempts to end his. He leaves his car running, drinking heavily and rocking out to Motley Crue sitting in the driver's seat of the car parked in the closed garage. Nick and Adam meet up at the hospital after Lou was found, and returned to health. They realize that their friendship has been compromised and to get it back, they are taking a trip to Kodiak Valley Ski Resort, where they have very fond memories.
However, time has been nothing close to friendly with the resort, but they commit to staying anyway. They all get in the hot tub behind their room and through a freak accident, they wind up in 1986 at the heart of Winterfest. This is when the group was last at the resort and they quickly learn that this is the exact same time that they remember. They even look like they did back then to everyone but themselves.
The hilarity ensues when the group decides that for the sake of not messing up the future, they would have to relive everything that they had undergone back in the eighties on the trip they appear to be reliving. So this means different things for different characters. One will have to break up with his perfect girlfriend all over again, another will have to get beaten up, and another will have to cheat on his wife (even though technically he wasn't married then).
The characters learn that sometimes, people are given a second chance to change things for one reason or another. While they might not have gotten it right the first time, they can get things right now. They learn a lot about themselves as well as each other.
If you were planning on checking out "Hot Tub Time Machine", you are making a very good call. If you loved the eighties, than this film is for you. If you love great jokes and outlandish humor, than this movie is for you. If you just like to laugh hard, this movie is one that you will watch a time or two. - 40728
