The Best Spielberg Movies Throughout The Years

By Kyle Richards

According to practically every list of best directors ever written, Steven Spielberg is considered one of the greatest. Sure, this is my opinion, but it is also the opinion of many others. Maybe this is why he has been nominated for so many Academy Awards or why his movies tend to do very well at the box office.

It is tough to comprise a list of Spielberg's top five movies of all time, but I will give it a try.

The first movie I will mention should be a prerequisite for all children to see. Of course, I am talking about E.T. It is hard to pinpoint exactly what is so great about this movie, but it is no doubt a classic and puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

Another fantastic movie directed by Spielberg was Saving Private Ryan. Few people do World War II films as good as Spielberg does and this film is the perfect depiction. No wonder he managed to snag an Oscar for Best Director.

One other fantastic Spielberg directed movie is Jurassic Park. Prior to Jurassic Park, the best dinosaurs we had seen on screen were in the Godzilla movies. This was some revolutionary stuff, and even when it is on these days, the dinosaurs still look impressive.

Any idea what film of Steven Spielberg's is ranked #7 of all time according to the Internet Movie Database? Schindler's List is the answer, and with good reason. If you have never seen this movie about the Holocaust, you are missing out on of the best of all time.

When it comes to Spielberg's top rated movies of all time, Raiders Of The Lost Ark chimes in at number 22 on the iMDB.com greatest films of all time. This is my personal favorite Indiana Jones movie and was the predecessor for many action/adventure movies that we see today.

These are just some of the best Spielberg films that I have seen. Certainly there are at least a handful of others that are worthy of praise as well. - 40728
